Aquadorsa is a new musical Italian ambient project formed
by Enrico Coniglio and Oophoi.Theyr first work "Cloudlands"
is a perfect mix of glithc,classical and orchestral glacial
ambient soundscape.Enrico Coniglio is a guitar player and
composer and his research has increasingly focused on the
relationship between 'music' and 'landscape ', in an attempt
to represent the contemporary crisis of the territory, the
loss of nature and identity of places, and the unknown on
the evolution of post-urban and post-industrial territory.
He has collaborated with various artists, including: Nicola
Alesini, Joachim Roedelius and Elisa Marzorati.He has produced
some releases such as "AREAVIRUS - topofonie vol.1" (2007
Psychonavigation), "dyanMU" (2008 Psychonavigation) and digital
releases Sapientumsuperacquis on Touch Radio (Touch records)
and Crònicaster (Crònica Electronica).Gianluigi Gasparetti
better know as Oophoi started his own music experiments in
1995, trying to explore the shores of deep space-ambient.
His live album "The spirals of time", released in 1997 by
Amplexus, has been voted as one of the best ambient albums
of all times.Oophoi uses traditional instruments as synths
and sampling machines and his music is recorded using analog-only
devices in The Kiva.He has released CDs for many International
labels such as Amplexus, Hypnos, Nextera, Prikosnovénie and
Glacial Movements and he has collaborated with Louisa John

AUTOPSIA
– Karl Rossmann Fragments [limited] digiCD ill.technologies
out 22-6 (it0011/EAN 5263092475025) Coming in spage 4-pages
gatefold-cover, sized 180x180mm, b/w offset on glossy 300gr
paper. Limited edition of 500 handnumbered CDs! Rossmann is
best known as a composer and pioneer of electronic avantgarde
music. But his artistic output was not only music, of course,
and his output in any case was not particularly large. There
are about 30 works in all and there are occasional gaps of
up to three years between one piece and the next. The bulk
of his music was written between the two world wars - it was
in 1918 that he inherited the title - though his earliest
successful pieces were written before that, and accepted for
publication, while he was a diplomatic attaché at the Cehoslovakia
Embassy in Warszawa. Although his output was limited, it shows
that he was one of the few truly original Czech composers
of the last century. On this album Autopsia are peforming
a series of his fragments and paying him tribute. True Avantgarde
and minimal electronic music back to his origins. A step back
into Electronic and a step forward into Industrial.

opinion - ONLY decent song of the album ‚Peace’, on June 15th.

SixToes (annoyingly once again ’artists’ that have nothing
in common with the musical history Depeche Mode come from…).

– Rituals [Expanded Edition] digiCD spittle out

of the most influential and enduring bands of the Italian
New Wave. From the beginning, the band’s music was perfectly
aligned with continental trends—integrating the attitude of
early post-punk with certain types of electronic music that
had timidly begun popping up on the club circuit, and an aesthetic
that was a cross between late romanticism and decadentism.
After a string of 12”s (five altogether) and a 7”, the band
finally released their first LP, Rituals in 1985 for KinderGarten
(also known for Pankow’s first 12”). This crucial album, which
unquestionably represented the band’s creative peak, has now
been re-released by Spittle not merely for the sake of the
album itself, but also as part of a wider campaign to document
the Italian New Wave scene. The 8 tracks that make up this
digitally remastered reissue (with 3 extra 12” versions) represent
one of the most original possible journeys into the Italian
underground. Obsessively rhythmic, like a pagan ritual, with
the vagueness and asperity of primordial rock and roll and
an inkling of late seventies / early eighties electronica!

this amazing ‘Best of’ in October 2008, but the first run

BLACK HEAVEN – History

the side project from Mantus, and for the first time they
present an extensive history on double CD, which shouldn’t
be regarded as a ‘best of’ in the accepted sense. A retrospective
which makes clear that BLACK HEAVEN have until now been unfairly
underestimated. BLACK HEAVEN is the other side of the coin.
It is not the opposite of MANTUS, but neither is it a sphere
in which the musicians ‘just want to mess about’, as is so
often the case with side projects. With its lyrical depth,
BLACK HEAVEN is also certainly beyond all cliches; from pure
dark poetry to the contrasting voices of Martin Schindler
and Thalia. In contrast to the main project of the two protagonists,
BLACK HEAVEN is more electronically- orientated and dispenses

With each new creation there is that magical point where the
first pen-stroke is pulled across the parchment, the first
drops moisten the mortar and the clocks are turned back. Each
cycle of the moon also firstly begins with darkness: the new
moon (in German, der Neumond). With their new work, the musicians
from WOLFENMOND conclude all of the phases of the moon that
we have experienced with them over the last ten years. The
mixture of electronic sounds and historical instruments represents
a new beginning with which WOLFENMOND inaugurate a new cycle.
The listener will be transfixed by the five titles appearing

--- "Scribings of a Forgotten Soul" to be Released July 21st
--- American gothic/doom metallers URN have completed work
on their third album, titled "Scribings of a Forgotten Soul",
for a July 21st, 2009 release via Rotting Corpse Records,
the band’s second release with the label. The cover and all
artwork were created by Corvis Nocturnum also who runs The
Ninth Gate magazine and the layout was done by Connie Bergmann
of DarkWind Studios. "Scribings of a Forgotten Soul" was mixed
and mastered by Dan Precision at Bombshelter Studios (Rise
Against, Naked Raygun) in Chicago, IL whom they also collaborated
with on their successful and critically-acclaimed 2006 release
“Dancing with the Demigods”. Rev. Thomas Thorn of The Electric
Hellfire Club also appears as guest vocal for the upcoming
album on the song "Hero Worship". URN frontman Dominic St.
Charles had played guitar and did backing vocals with the
Electric Hellfire Club back in late 1999 to 2000 around the
"Witness of the Millennium" album and its subsequent touring
and the two have remained very close over the years. Jape
Peratalo, formerly of Finland’s melancholy rock outfit, To/Die/For
was also scheduled to do a guest vocal appearance, but with
To/Die/For’s recent disbanding, schedules didn’t coincide
and both sides have mutually agreed to re-schedule for him
to appear on a future URN release. The track listing for the

will be a concept album based on a true story of several individuals
that were in his life that were directly involved in a prison
riot at state correctional facility in a nearby town from
where he attended high school. “Think of it as a “Law & Order”
approach to the story we are telling here. Of course, all
of the characters are completely fictitious and do not represent
any person living or dead. It was a major event that shook
my community at the time and my best friend’s father was the
night shift supervisor. So a couple of months before it happened
he took a group of me and my friends on tour of the prison
at 2:30 a.m. (we thought it would be interesting to do). The
experience of seeing all that was going on from the inside
from many perspectives, the prisoners, the guards, etc., ended
up being highly enlightening for me. So when the riot broke
out it was hitting very close to home and I had been doing
a good bit of writing at the time and decided to chronicle
these events. So in essence, that is what this album is about
a fictional depiction of this event. We are very excited for
the release this album as it has been a work in progress for
many years now and we thank Rotting Corpse Records for their
continued dedication behind us." URN recently returned from

per nexus, op. 77, for integrated techniques is an extent
work (79 min.) on philosophical-teological theme, based on
the writing "Teologia spiritualis mystica", dealing with the
process of transformation of human mind during mystical contemplation.
The composition describes relatively exactly all phases of
it, beeing divided into two seemingly thematically antagonistic
parts (complementary-affirmatory) that are but indiscerptible
compounds of natural contemplative process. Particular periods
are represented by subsections continuously merged one another.
The album is an intense musical dialogue between space and
detail, a kind of transcription of the relation between human
and cosmos, the fight and reconcilliation of intrinsic and
extrinsic, real and surreal world. Polymodal architecture

As pre-announced in our Newsletter 578, May 4 sees the release
of much more than ‘just’ a live-album, but a sort of ‘Best
of’ as well! A captivating hybrid of 80's electronica and
aggressive guitars, curiously fused with a cinematic quality
of melodic progressions, The Birthday Massacre's soundscapes
have encapsulated a diverse and devout fan base. They have
come along way since their inception in 2000. The Toronto
based outfit continues to garner new fans worldwide not only
in the industrial and electronic scenes, but the rock community
as well. In July of 2002, they self released the limited edition
CD Nothing and Nowhere and added a new drummer, Rhim. Two
years later, they followed up with the EP, Violet. 2005 became
a big year for The Birthday Massacre. Not only did they add
O-En on keyboards, but were signed in Europe by RepoRecords
and in North America by Metropolis Records. Both labels re-released
Violet as a full length album with four extra tracks. A video
for their song "Blue" was also launched later that year, which
is produced by NYC artist and director Daniel Ouellette. Since
the release of ‘Walking With Strangers’, in September of 2007,
The Birthday Massacre have been touring constantly in Europe
and North America. While they were touring Germany shortly
after it’s release, they played a gig at Knust (a club in
Hamburg Germany that holds about 500 people). It just so happened
that we gave permission for Crazy Clip, (a local video producer)
to record and film the performance. Originally there were
only supposed to be 2 or 3 clips aired locally. The project
lay dormant for the next 18 months while the band continued
touring and then began work on their follow up to Walking
With Strangers which is scheduled for release this coming
fall. Beginning in December of last year Rainbow and Falcore
started going through the video and audio recordings from
that Hamburg show and decided that although it wasn't planned
for a "live" record, there was an intimate, small-club feel
to the whole project that they liked. And so, they set about
editing and mixing the tracks to form the CD, ‘Show and Tell',
which will be released May 6th. No bells and whistles, no
shimmering sleights of hand or studio tricks; just a hard
working band on the stage of a small club doing what they
do best. This is not a polished record and that is a good
thing. For all of those fans who have had to suffer through
the phone recordings of some of their favorite songs, this
recording will deliver all of the excitement along with the
fidelity! The DVD of this concert will follow in a few months.
The editing of the video and the 5.1 mix are going to make
that project more time consuming undertaking. Drawn from their
extensive repertoire, each song is intensified by the bands
raw and energetic live performance. This collection will add
another dimension to their already sizeable reputation. In
addition to being essential listening for current fans of
the band, this album is also a great introduction to the music
of ‘The Birthday Massacre’ for those who have yet to check

It might seem strange that a band without a single release
to its name has played concerts and festivals all over Europe.
But anyone who has ever experienced Die Weisse Rose on stage
knows why. More than concerts, Die Weisse Rose’s performances
are elaborate rituals, caleidoscopic (or even psychedelic)
experiences. Elements such as uniforms, burning torches, snippets
of old schlägers, segments from documentary films and philosophical
proclamations are wowen together by orgies of live drums and
electronic sounds. Die Weisse Rose strives towards what Wagner
called ”Gesamtkunstwerke” – total works of art. When most
other bands talk about Gesamtkunstwerke, it sounds pretentious.
When Die Weisse Rose do it, it makes sense. Die Weisse Rose
also like to think of their songs as “audiodocumentaries”.
Again, such a seemingly pretentious term makes sense, as Die
Weisse Rose’s art is just as indebted to the History Channel
as to Throbbing Gristle. To bolster Die Weisse Rose’s lineup
(which really consists only of the band’s mastermind, Thomas
Bøjden) over the years the unit has recruited collaborators
to its ranks that makes DWR smack of an Industrial supergroup.
From Marco Deplano (Foresta di Ferro), Gerhard (Allerseelen),
Kim Larsen (Of the Wand and the Moon) to name but a few. In
return, Thomas Bøjden has returned the favour and played with
a who’s who of of the Industrial and Neofolk underground,
from well-established outfits like Rome, Blood Axis and Foresta
Di Ferro to up-and-coming Austrian neofolk band Klammheim.
Now, Die Weisse Rose are for the first time available on record.
If you fear that we have another ”martial” clone band on our
hands, prepare to be pleasantly surprised. The music is painstakingly
crafted and orchestrated to perfection to include electronic
elements, field recordings and real instruments, and its creative

L'album di debutto su Black Fading Records, in CD e digitale.
Gli Animal Farm Project sono una band che riesce a scuotere
le certezze dell'ascoltatore. Difficile catalogare la loro
musica, ed in "Complicated Lines" emerge fin da subito una
forte volontà di contaminazione, tra generi apparentementedistanti.
Il disco si apre con "Animal Farm Song", traccia divisa in
due parti, che rappresenta una sorta di manifesto di questa
band. All'interno del brano, parti recitate, momenti più intimistici,
aperture pop ed energia rock e momenti psichedelici, su cui
risalta l'ottima voce di Stefania Centonze, già con le Mumble
Rumble. New Wave e post-punk rappresentano un'altra grande
influenza della band, evidente in brani come "I Take My Time"
o "Look At Yourself" così come il funk, che emerge soprattutto
dal punto di vista ritmico. "Complicated Lines" è quindi un
album eclettico e la grande abilità della band in fase di
arrangiamento e scrittura risiede proprio nell'integrare tutti
questi elementi all'interno dei brani, dando così un senso
di continuità e creando così un proprio stile e marchio di
fabbrica assolutamente riconoscibile. La filosofia dei sei
elementi della band è quella di contribuire ognuno con il
proprio background musicale ed il proprio stile al risultato

Un nuova band entra a fare parte del roster discografico ed
editoriale di New Model Label. I Rummer And Grapes provengono
da Terni e sono un gruppo di recentissima formazione, ma nonostante
questo, dotati di una notevole maturità artistica. In poco
più di sei mesi dalla nascita la band ha registrato "Every
Damned Friday", album di debutto che ha già riscosso notevoli
consensi nell'underground. Il suono dei Rummer And Grapes
fonde influenze british, tra Interpol e Franz Ferdinand, rielaborandole
però con una grande vena melodica, come mostra un brano come
"Short Drink", primo singolo lanciato dall'album. La voce
di Simona Cioccoloni è sicuramente uno dei punti di forza
della band, ricca di espressività e sempre a proprio agio,
sia in momenti più aggressivi sia in momenti più romantici.
Tra questi merita una segnalazione anche l'unica cover presente
nell'album, una versione di "Wild World" di Cat Stevens con

underground of the 1980s, Savage Republic forged an astonishing
reputation for themselves with their legendary performances.
Their brand of ritualistically tribal exhibitions blurred
the boundaries of Post-Punk and Industrial music. Their music
incorporates minimalist bass rumbles, exotic and/or militaristic
drumming, Arabic melodies, primal chants and even a bit of
surf guitar. Now A Silent Place is honoured to release a limited
vinyl 7" single with two amazing exclusive tracks recorded
expressly for this release after '1938' cd album release on
Neurot Recordings! Both tracks are with SR distinguishing
elements: tribal drumming, hypnotic and raga-like guitar lines
with pulsating bass, Post-Punk and Industrial music with a
sort of exotic atmosphere. SR Biography: Figures of considerable
repute within the Los Angeles post-punk community of the 1980s,
Savage Republic grafted tribal percussion, industrial drones,
and raga-like guitar lines together to craft an idiosyncratically
moody sound with flashes of both desolation and eloquent grandeur.
Capable of both harsh dissonance and shimmering textures,
the band's guiding force was guitarist Bruce Licher, a founder
and constant presence in their shuffling lineups. Alternating
between cyclic instrumentals and quasi-industrial assaults
with gruff, chanted vocals, their records were unavoidably
inconsistent, but most contain some enduring highlights. Savage
Republic was founded by former UCLA students Licher and drummer
Mark Erskine in the early '80s. Adding new members, the group
originally called themselves Africa Corps, changing the name
to Savage Republic just before releasing their first record
in 1982. Exotic percussion would always play a big role in
Savage Republic -- even in the early days they were using
oil cans, metal pipes, and 55-gallon drums. Their early singles,
and their debut LP Tragic Figures (1982), show the group at
their least accessible, though there are hints of the more
mysterious and melodic elements to come. After some personnel
changes (some members went off to form 17 Pygmies), Savage
Republic regrouped with new elements (Thom Fuhrmann and Ethan
Port) and a more guitar-oriented sound. On Ceremonial (1985),
the band shifted their focus to mostly instrumental material,
usually piloted by oddly tuned guitars (the group sometimes
used guitars with six identically tuned strings). They'd never
wholly abandon those droning, angst-driven chants, though.
Combined with the fact that their instrumental material wouldn't
break much new ground over the course of the decade, that
can make their studio albums uneven listening. In any case,
the band was best experienced live, where they would burn
trash cans of pampas leaves, play on Los Angeles' Skid Row,
and use all sorts of unexpected objects for percussion in
their quest to make each concert a unique event. Savage Republic's
albums, which were individually hand-letterpressed and numbered
by Licher himself, received as much attention for their packaging
as their music. Licher would perform the same services for
other bands on his Independent Project label, even getting
a Grammy nomination for his work on the first Camper Van Beethoven
LP. Savage Republic was not destined to become nearly as big
as Camper (not that this was ever their intent), and disbanded
around 1990. A small reunion tour brought the band back in
the fall of 2002, but the band only played a few random dates.
After relocating to Arizona, Licher continues to run the Independent
Project label, and design sleeves (his most famous work in
that department has been for an R.E.M. Christmas fan club
single). Musically, he resurfaced with the trio Scenic, which
plays entirely instrumental material that blends the exotic
flavor of Savage Republic with influences from Ennio Morricone

«Having Thin Moonshine» Digipak CD, ARK Records 2009 ARK015
Having Thin Moonshine is a musical project born in Venice
at the end of 2006. The group includes: female voice (Ally),
acoustic guitar (Pietro Baldan), bass (Dario Belardinelli)
and drums (Jacopo Campi). The lyrics, in English, are written
by Ally. They are mainly about introspective personal visions,
but also include scenic drama, as in the case of «Salomé»
by Oscar Wilde. The music is composed entirely by Pietro,
a cellist by profession, graduated from the Conservatory of
Music «Agostino Steffani» in Castelfranco Veneto, who began
this project following his passion for acoustic guitar and
music. Only three months after meeting in studio for the first
time, the band records their first demo of five folk-new wave
tracks and receives good reviews from the specialized press,
raising the interest of radio stations and the public. In
2009 the group signed its first discographic contract with
ARK Records, producing its first full length album «Having
Thin Moonshine». It includes 12 tracks, in which the throbbing
rhythms of the base wonderfully mix with the dynamic frills
of the acoustic guitar, creating a soothing and magnetic effect
in which Ally’s voice echoes touching the notes of melancholy
and projecting before our eyes imaginary landscapes and impressions
of dark and inner worlds, which have forever been that innermost
place in which lovers of a certain kind of life/new wave and

– Flowers From Exile digiCD out 26-6 Into the heart… With
‘Flowers from Exile’, the Luxembourgish folk formation ROME
surpass their work to date, which already includes three full-length
albums in just a few years. Just as early releases were apocalyptic
and aggressive in nature, the expressionistically-tinged CD
‘Masse Mensch Material’ (2008) could be said to have a revealed
inner vision. ROME’s universe was expanded by proud resignation
and sweet melancholy. The latest album, ‘Flowers from Exile’
goes a step further in this direction. Similar to the early
albums of the legendary songwriter Leonard Cohen, stories
from the (inner) exile are told here with fatalistic gestures
and dark timbre; of the longing for a lost homeland, of loneliness
and eternal travels, but also of unexpected friends far away
and the actual homeland in your own heart. Songs such as ‘The
Secret Sons of Europe’ or ‘To Die Among Strangers’ (which
was previously released as a CD single) form a song cycle
full of metaphors for estrangement – the poetry of longing.
Highly detailed arrangements use the sound of the flamenco
guitar as well as mysterious samples, pulsating beats and
sad melodies. In ROME’s songs there lives a stoic sense of
the melodramatic. As well as Cohen, one must look to icons
such as Tom Waits and late Johnny Cash in order to be able
to describe the lyrics and voice of Jerome Reuter. ‘Flowers
from Exile’ is just as much an emotional as a critical work.
The personally stamped album of a modern singer-songwriter
which tells of journeys both within and without. Jerome Reuter’s
moving vocals and Patrick Damiani’s complex musical arrangements
leave the musical roots of folk far behind and send these
‘flowers from exile’ to all listeners who are willing and
capable of feeling the dignity, the hope and the pride behind
the lyrics and who are prepared to recognise themselves in
those restless spirits whom the twelve part song cycle conjures

di S. Maria di Falleri a Falerii Novi, antica città
Falisco-Romana, gli ARPIA, in occasione dell’uscita del loro
ultimo CD e del libro omonimo, presenteranno in anteprima
lo spettacolo-lettura-concerto dal titolo: “Racconto d’inverno”.
Cos’è "Racconto d’inverno" Innanzi tutto
un romanzo, ma al tempo stesso anche un’opera musicale nata
con il testo, che si accavalla ad esso sovrapponendosi alla
scrittura medesima. CosÏ che la musica non viene dopo la parola
ne vviceversa. Il libro e il disco usciranno rispettivamente
per la casa editrice Marietti 1820 di Milano e l’etichetta
discografica francese Musea. Durante la serata verranno suonati
ampi brani dell’opera e letti alcuni passi del romanzo. Tutto
questo con la partecipazione di: Leonardo Bonetti: autore
